Join us for a warm, welcoming, life-affirming Zoom gathering where we explore the sacredness of being human through open conversation about death, life, meaning, and mortality.
Inspired by the original Death Café model founded in London in 2011, this gently moderated gathering offers a safe, supportive space for reflection. There is no advice-giving, no judgment, and no agenda beyond honest sharing and deep listening. Everyone who wishes to speak will have the opportunity to do so.
Together, we will explore how embracing our mortality can help us live with greater presence, peace, compassion, and wonder. Through the lens of the three realms — the Ukupacha, Kaypacha, and Hanaqpacha — we will reflect on how facing death can help us move more fully through life.
In the Ukupacha, the underworld, we are invited to process fears, regrets, unfinished business, guilt, shame, forgiveness, and other dense or unresolved emotions. This inner work helps us travel more lightly through life and prepares us for a more peaceful, easeful death.
As we move through this work, we can inhabit the Kaypacha, this middle world of daily life, with greater grace, compassion, and self-love. By facing and resolving our inner conflicts, we begin to re-member the parts of ourselves we may have abandoned.
From this lighter, more integrated place, we become more available to the Hanaqpacha, the higher realms. Here, we can deepen our connection with divine guidance, reconcile with our own divinity, and more easily hear and follow the wisdom that is available to us.
Your guide, Christine Comaford, brings decades of experience in end-of-life support, hospice care, and indigenous wisdom traditions. Her own encounters with mortality, along with supporting her father and mother through their death processes, inspired her lifelong dedication to helping others meet life and death with more peace, presence, and love.
Many people leave a Death Café feeling more peaceful, more alive, and more connected to the beauty of the human experience.
